SUMMARY:Holiday Meal Drive
DESCRIPTION:This holiday season\, Grace Avenue is working to provide supplies for those in our community to make holiday meals for their families. These boxes will go to families in our English as a Second Language (ESL) program\, those we serve through the Feed My Sheep food pantry with Building the Bridges\, as well as those who need additional support in our Grace Avenue and Grace Chapel communities. \nSign up to help us meet our goal of 125 boxes. You can pick up a list of foods and a cardboard box in the church office hallway by the Learning Center Lobby (next to Keri’s office) beginning Sunday\, October 11. The list of foods is also provided at the sign up link. It includes things like stuffing mix\, canned vegetables\, pie filling\, seasonings\, and other items necessary to make a full meal for the holidays. \nPurchase all the items on the list\, place them inside the box\, and tape the list to the outside of the box. One Box per meal – it’s okay if you cannot close it when you drop it off. \nDrop off boxes by the World Map whenever filled by Sunday\, November 8. \nContact Keri Keck at keri@graceavenue.org with questions.

SUMMARY:"Everything Happens..." Book Study
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever heard someone say\, “Everything happens for a reason\,” and wondered if that could really be true? Join us for a three-week book study of Kate Bowler’s Everything Happens for a Reason: And Other Lies I’ve Loved as we explore one of Christianity’s most common\, and often most painful\, sayings. Together\, we’ll wrestle with suffering\, faith\, and the hope that God is present with us\, even when life refuses to make sense. \nContact Rev. Karyl Patredis at karyl@graceavenue.org with questions.

SUMMARY:Through a Different Lens
DESCRIPTION:Through a Different Lens is a community for anyone who wants to explore faith with curiosity\, honesty\, and compassion. Together\, we discuss engaging books one chapter at a time\, make space for questions\, and learn from one another’s experiences and perspectives. Whether you’re deconstructing\, reconstructing\, or simply looking for a caring community where you can explore faith at your own pace\, you’re welcome here. As an inclusive and affirming community\, we believe our conversations are richer because people bring different stories\, identities\, questions\, and perspectives to the table. SUMMARY:Fall Festival
DESCRIPTION:Wear your costume and take part in Trunk-or-Treat while you visit the patch on our most exciting day of the season. \nWhat is trunk-or-treat?\nImagine door-to-door trick-or-treating around the neighborhood\, but instead of houses\, it’s decorated trunks\, and instead of a neighborhood\, it’s a parking lot. This is a fun and safe option for kiddos to experience all the treats with no tricks! \nPlease register so that we can make sure to have enough candy! We will not have dinner available for purchase this year but will have popcorn and drinks available for small fee. If you’d like to host a trunk\, you can sign up for that\, too. We ask for a $5 donation for trunk-or-treating. All of the pumpkin patch activities will be open to enjoy. \nThis event takes place during our annual pumpkin patch! For more information about Pumpkins on the Prairie\, head to pumpkinsontheprairie.org. \n  \nCANDY DONATIONS \nWe’re gathering donations of candy and small toys to hand out to all the children who come trick-or-treating in the church parking lot during our Fall Festival. This is one of our biggest community events of the year\, and we want to make sure every trunk is stocked! \nWe plan and prepare for 500 children. We PREFER peanut free\, but know that is sometimes hard to find. Instead\, consider items like stickers\, play dough\, or trinkets. Pro tip: Skip the seasonal aisle at the grocery store and grab a big variety bag from a warehouse club or dollar store instead. The per-piece price is usually much lower\, and kids care more about the size of their haul than the brand. Budget-friendly options like Tootsie Rolls\, Dum Dums\, and Smarties will help your donation go even further. \nCollection bins will be in the Narthex and Worship Center Lobby. Please bring donations by Thursday\, October 22. \nThank you for supporting our Children’s Ministry!

SUMMARY:Confirmation – Fall 2026
DESCRIPTION:Confirmation is when Christians choose their faith for themselves and “confirm” their intent to live out their baptismal vows. At Grace Avenue\, we offer Confirmation Class for 6th-8th graders to learn more about their faith before choosing to be confirmed and becoming full members of the church. \nMore information can be found in the registration form. Contact our Youth Minister\, Sarah Schneider\, at sarah@graceavenue.org with questions.
