Music Lessons for Every Age and Ability

Open Enrollment
We provide private music lessons for any age and skill level. We currently offer lessons in piano, voice, guitar, and violin by some of the area’s finest instructors. Lessons are usually 30 minutes each at the same time every week throughout the school year. Schedules are negotiated between the student and the instructor. Enrollment is open throughout each semester, not just at the start of the season! To get started, simply fill out our enrollment form and then pay the $25 registration fee through our payment form. Once we receive your submissions, a member of our team will reach out to begin scheduling lessons. Please contact Jessica Lowe at jessica@graceavenue.org with questions.

Times
Lesson times are set based on the availability of the instructor and student. We offer classes on weekday afternoons and evenings and on some weekends. When you fill out our enrollment form, please include all available days and times so we can match you with an instructor.

Recitals
Each Fall and Spring, students of The School of Music will present the music that they have been working on in lessons at a recital. These are held at Grace Avenue UMC and open to the community. Information about recitals will be communicated to families as they are scheduled, but typically fall on a Sunday afternoon at the end of the semester.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are group classes offered, or only individual lessons?
At this time we only offer individual, weekly lessons, conducted one-on-one with an instructor. This allows each student to progress at their own pace and get individualized attention to help them gain both proficiency and confidence.
Where are the classrooms?
All lessons are conducted at Grace Avenue United Methodist Church, located at 3521 Main Street in Frisco, TX. We use several different classrooms for our lessons. Once you have registered for classes you will be sent specific details about which classroom your lessons will take place in, along with a map of the church campus helping you to know where to park and enter the facilities at.
Can guardians or friends come to lessons with the student?
Parents of minors are always welcome to sit in on music lessons. We also have tables and chairs set up down the hall from the main classrooms, if a parent would prefer to be nearby but not directly in the classroom with their child. We ask that additional friends and family of adults please abstain from attending, as an audience can take away from the learning environment. However, any specific request can be made directly to the music instructor.
Is there an age range for students?
We accept both children and adults in our music program, with a minimum age of 4 years old. Instructors tailer their curriculum and teaching style to the age of the student, and we try to keep lessons fun and motivational.
Exploring the Arts with our Heart & Soul
In Memory of Elisabeth Wagner
The School of Music was established in 2001 under the title “Heart and Soul: The Elisabeth Wagner School of Creative Arts.” Elisabeth Reed Wagner was born on April 23, 1980. From a young age, she displayed the heart of an artist. Whether dancing, singing, or acting, Elisabeth warmed the hearts of her family and friends. She worked with great passion – and sometimes through extreme pain – to develop her talents as she grew older. Throughout her life, Elisabeth was best known at her church, her high school, her college, and in her community for her indomitable spirit. In the spring of 2002, Elisabeth passed away after a lifetime battle with Neurofibromatosis (NF). This school of creative arts is dedicated to her memory in the belief that there is an artist in everyone, and in the rich hope that everyone will explore their artistic gifts with a similar kind of heart and soul.
