Rhea Lana Consignment Event

Friday, August 14 | 4:00-6:00pm | Plano
Saturday, August 15 | 4:30-7:30pm | Plano & Little Elm

Please join us as we refill the clothing closet for foster/adoption/kinship families across North Texas as well as students and families in our community. We have been invited to be the recipients of clothing and baby items that do not sell at an upcoming Rhea Lana Consignment event. We need people to help sort and tag clothing on Friday, August 14 at Willow Bend Mall in Plano. Then on Saturday, August 15, we need people to bag and load the donations at Willow Bend Mall and then transport to and unload them at the Colin Powell Community Center in Little Elm. If you have a vehicle that can transport, that is helpful. If not, please still volunteer to help sort or load/unload. All hands are needed. Volunteer hours will be given if needed. Check the Sign Up Genius for more specific location details. Contact Keri Keck at keri@graceavenue.org with questions.

Buttons & Bows

2nd Saturdays | 9:00-11:00am
Colin Powell Community Center (520 Lobo Ln, Little Elm)

Buttons & Bows is a clothing closet run by Building the Bridges Community Services out of the Colin Powell Community Center that supports foster families, adoptive families, and those with kinship placements in their homes.

We need your help at the distribution to find the perfect outfit for kiddos in our community! Come help sort and hang donations and welcome families as they shop. Contact Keri Keck at keri@graceavenue.org with questions.

Battery Recycling

As batteries need to be recycled at the Environmental Collection Center on Walnut Street, please consider supporting Grace Avenue UMC as a satellite battery collection center for our community.

If you feel called to this straightforward green ministry, then please sign up for a Sunday or two below.

The Process:
1. On your Sunday, bring a container (such as a bucket) and check our two battery collection stations
2. The Bins
– If the bins are over half full, please move the batteries into your container to take with you. If they are too heavy to handle, do not lift them. Your new responsibility at this point is to simply alert Jeff Dolloff-Holt by emailing dolloffholt@msn.com so that he may get it taken care of another way.
– If the bins are under half full, then you may leave them for a future pick up.
3. Take the batteries to the Environmental Collection Center at a time that works for you and deposit batteries in the battery receptacle there.
