Summer Lunch
at Grace Avenue

June 1 – August 7

The Summer Lunch Program at Grace Avenue provides lunches for children in the the Preston on the Lake Community of Little Elm throughout the summer months.

Summer Lunch is one of the largest mission programs at Grace Avenue, running every day, each week, over several months. So we need your help! Summer Lunch relies on volunteers & donations from our church.

At Packing Parties, we assemble the lunch bags for distribution each day of Summer Lunch. We have a Packing Party every couple of weeks throughout the summer to keep our supply up.

Sign up your family, small group, friends, and neighbors – make it a fun night out! Any age and ability can help decorate bags or join the assembly line.

June 1 – August 7  |  Monday-Friday

There are several ways you can help as we provide lunch each day at Preston on the Lake (POL). We need several volunteers each day, every week to:

  • pick up the main entree and drop it off at POL
  • pick up the brown lunch bags at GAUMC and drop them off at POL
  • help set up, serve, or clean up at POL
  • pick up weekend packs at GAUMC on Fridays and serve them at POL

We need single serve and easy to open donations to fill the packs throughout the summer. Drop your donations off in the Grace on the Go Trailer or under the Missions Bulletin Board next to the world map in the hallway near the Learning Center Lobby.

  • lunch/dinner items that are easy for kids – ex. tuna pouches, beef ravioli, soup, mac n cheese cups
  • breakfast items – ex. granola bars, individual cereal pouches, pop tarts
  • snacks – ex. chips, individual goldfish, Handi-snacks cheese and crackers, raisin boxes, applesauce
  • desserts – ex. fruit snacks, individual cookies

We will collect backpacks full of school supplies to distribute as students get ready to head back to school. Take part in this mission by donating or attending a packing party.

You can purchase backpacks and supplies from our Amazon wishlist (link below) and the items will ship straight to the church, or you can reference the list of supplies below if you prefer to shop in-store and drop the items off in the bin under the missions bulletin board by the world map at the church. We will pack backpacks at the Packing Party on July 21 to hand out at the Little Elm Back to School Bash. The collection will continue through the end of summer, and we will do another backpack Packing Party before handing out backpacks during our last week of Summer Lunch in August.

Our goal is to put together 450 backpacks full of supplies. To do this, we are in need of:

  • Backpacks

  • Pens

  • Paper – loose leaf wide ruled

  • Glue Bottles

  • Highlighters

  • Markers – both wide and thin

Frisco Family Services Summer Lunch

Monday, June 8 – Friday, June 12

Grace Avenue partners with Frisco Family Services to provide lunch for students in Frisco ISD for one week during the summer.

This is in addition to our Grace Avenue Summer Lunch program, so we need double the volunteers for this week when they overlap. Volunteer at one of 3 different locations across Frisco to serve lunches or lead games and activities.
