ALL third graders are invited to receive a Bible from their Grace Avenue family!
In the United Methodist tradition, giving a Bible to children in the third grade is a meaningful rite of passage. At this age, many children are becoming confident readers and can begin exploring the stories of our faith for themselves. At Grace Avenue, we cherish this tradition and want to celebrate this milestone with your family.
We invite you and your child to join us for this special moment during worship on Sunday, September 27 at 10:30 am. During the service, your child will be presented with a Bible from their Grace Avenue family of faith.
Families may choose to participate in either:
- Traditional Service in the Sanctuary
- Modern Service in the Worship Center
In addition, we want to help children learn how to use their new Bible in a fun and interactive way. We’ll gather for “Learning to Use Your Bible” on Sunday, September 27 from 3:30-5:00 pm. At least one parent or adult is asked to attend with their child. Childcare will be available by reservation for siblings if needed.
What we need from you:
- Which service your child will be attending (Traditional or Modern).
- How your child’s name should appear in their Bible.
- Whether your child will attend the “Learning to Use Your Bible” session.
To ensure your child’s Bible is personalized and ready, please send this information no later than Wednesday, September 23.
You can respond by:
- Calling the church office at 972-335-2882, ext. 605
- Emailing Kristen Lane at klane@graceavenue.org
We look forward to celebrating this important step in your child’s faith journey!
